Application of speech therapy exercises to pronunciation problems in Czech speakers of English

This bachelor thesis deals with the application of speech therapy exercises to pronunciation problems in Czech speakers of English. The theoretical part compares Czech and English phonological system and identifies problematic segmental phenomena of English pronunciation in Czech speakers. Subsequently, Czech remedial techniques are compared with speech therapy exercises used in English-speaking countries. The practical part contains a description of a research project focused on the effectiveness of speech therapy exercises applied to a group of Czech speakers. The analysis examines the results of the research and focuses mainly on the improvement of English pronunciation and probable influencing factors. The final part of the thesis presents possible methods of correcting wrong pronunciation habits.
